Application: 4-Methylthiazole-5-carboxaldehyde is an important intermediate for the production of ceftol pile-up. Ceftol piloproxil is a third-generation oral cephalosporin antibiotic developed by Meiji Fruit Co., Ltd. of Japan in 1994. It is used to treat infections caused by Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, especially Gram-positive bacteria of the Staphylococcus genus, including Streptococcus pneumoniae. Gram-negative bacteria such as Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus catarrhalis, Klebsiella, Proteus, Haemophilus influenzae, as well as anaerobic bacteria such as Streptococcus pneumoniae, Propionibacterium acnes, Bacteroides, etc., all demonstrated strong antibacterial power. Due to its broad antibacterial spectrum, ceftolampil is widely used in clinical practice.
